Abstract:

This presentation will provide information on the use of hydrodemolition for concrete removal and surface preparation; removal of coatings and sealants, the benefits and limitations of using hydrodemolition; and an understanding of other aspects to be addressed when incorporating hydrodemolition into a repair project. The presentation provides a description of the equipment, applications, safety procedures, methods of water collection and treatment, and cleanup of the concrete debris.  The following topics will be covered:

About the Speaker

Mike Alloway is a current board member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of ICRI, providing surface preparation using hydro demolition for over 26 years.  Mike is also active in the Waterproofers Organization covering North and South Carolina.  As the owner of Technical Services Mid Atlantic from 1992 to 2018, in July of this year, Rampart Hydro Services purchased Technical Services and Mike is now responsible for Business Development at Rampart.  Mike also has over 20 years in the marine services and construction industry.  Mike served in the U.S. Navy and is a graduate of Widener College with a BS in Business Management.

Tom McCann has been Senior Estimator with Rampart Hydro Services for over seven years.  He is responsible for all aspects of bid preparation, sales, and ICRI/ACI hydrodemolition presentations.  He is a member of ICRI; has OSHA-10 certification; and a BSME degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
